Saddle Up for Taylor Rodeo 2026: Your Guide to Texas Rodeo RV Camping

There’s something magical about a Texas rodeo—the thunder of hooves, the roar of the crowd, and the unmistakable spirit of cowboy culture that runs deep through the Lone Star State. The Taylor Rodeo Association has been keeping that tradition alive since 1950, and their 2026 season promises to be one of the most exciting yet. If you’re planning to experience Taylor Rodeo RV camping this summer, you’re in for an unforgettable Central Texas adventure.

The 2026 Taylor Rodeo Season: What’s in Store

All events take place at the Williamson County Expo Center (5350 Bill Pickett Trail, Taylor, TX 76574), a 77,000-square-foot facility that’s home to one of the biggest and best small-town rodeos anywhere. The venue itself honors the legendary Bill Pickett, who grew up in Taylor and invented the art of bulldogging—now known as steer wrestling—making him the first Black cowboy inducted into the National Cowboy Hall of Fame.

Saturday, March 21, 2026 – Annual Fundraiser & Scholarship Event

The season kicks off with the Taylor Rodeo Association’s Annual Fundraiser, which directly supports student scholarships and local youth programs. This event plays a critical role in the association’s mission of giving back to the community—in recent years, they’ve awarded $50,000 in academic scholarships to graduating seniors across Williamson, Milam, and Lee counties. Tickets are available through Taylor Rodeo Association members.

Friday, June 26, 2026 – Kickoff Gala

The Kickoff Gala marks the official start of rodeo season in Taylor. This evening event blends live entertainment, food, and fellowship, setting the tone for an action-packed summer. It’s a favorite gathering for sponsors, supporters, and longtime rodeo families.

Saturday, June 27, 2026 – The Next Gambler: Bull Riding

One of the most anticipated events of the year returns with The Next Gambler Bull Riding, hosted in collaboration with the Austin Gamblers—the back-to-back regular season champions of the PBR Teams league. This high-energy competition features 20 riders divided into four teams, coached by current Gamblers roster members. The winning bull rider can earn a provisional spot on the Gamblers’ star-studded roster alongside PBR legends. It’s professional bull riding’s version of American Idol, and it’s happening right here in Taylor.

Wednesday, July 15, 2026 – Slack Before the Rodeo

A beloved local tradition, Slack Night gives fans a chance to see additional rodeo events before the main performances begin. It’s a more relaxed, insider-style evening that longtime rodeo supporters look forward to every year.

July 16–18, 2026 – The 76th Annual Taylor Rodeo

The season culminates with the 76th Annual Taylor Rodeo—three nights of classic rodeo competition, family fun, and Texas pride. Expect professional rodeo events, crowd-favorite competitions like the Calf Scramble, Wild Steer Saddling, and Mutton Bustin’ for the little ones, plus live music and post-rodeo dances featuring top regional bands. Gates typically open at 5:30 PM with events starting at 7:30 PM. Admission is around $20 for ages 8 and up, with discounts for children.
