Blue Origin Is Coming to Hutto: RV Sites 10 Minutes from Constellation Park

Big news for the Highway 79 corridor: Blue Origin has picked Hutto, Texas for Constellation Park, a $650 million aerospace manufacturing campus along SH 79 between Innovation Boulevard and Alliance Boulevard. The 1.3 million-square-foot complex is expected to bring up to 2,000 jobs to the area over the next ten years. If you’re part of the crew that will build it or fit it out, Shady River RV Resort is an RV park about 10 minutes up the road in Georgetown, with shaded, full-hookup RV sites and simple monthly rates for construction workers and crews.

What’s being built in Hutto

Announced by Governor Greg Abbott, the City of Hutto, the Hutto Economic Development Corporation and Blue Origin, Constellation Park will be a central production hub for the company’s satellite and communications programs. The campus will support manufacturing for TeraWave, Blue Origin’s satellite communications network, and expand production for Quartz, its global ground communications network, along with key subsystems such as solar arrays, avionics and other satellite hardware. Blue Origin is also planning paid high school internships with Hutto ISD and support for the district’s career and technical education programs.

Hutto Mayor Mike Snyder summed up the moment: between Tesla, ASML and now Blue Origin, Hutto is becoming an anchor point on the Highway 79 tech corridor. For the tradespeople who make projects like this happen, that corridor means years of steady work in Hutto, Taylor and Round Rock.

Details and updates on the project are on Blue Origin’s announcement and the City of Hutto website.

Why construction crews choose our Georgetown RV park

Shady River RV Resort sits at 7450 E State Hwy 29 in Georgetown, roughly 7 to 9 miles from the Innovation Boulevard and Alliance Boulevard site depending on your route, which works out to a 10 to 12 minute drive. That puts you close enough for an easy commute without living next to a construction site.

  • Full hook-ups on every site with 30 or 50 amp service, water and sewer, plus concrete lots with metal awnings (Limited availability).
  • Real shade. Mature pecan trees keep rigs and awnings cooler through the Texas summer, which matters when you’re working outdoors all day (Limited availability due to high demand).
  • Monthly rates built for working stays. Lot rental is $400/month for RVs up to 30 ft, $425 up to 35 ft and $450 up to 40 ft, plus metered electric billed by the park, so there’s no need to open an account with the electric company. Monthly tenants pay a $200 electric and lot cleanup deposit.
  • Everyday conveniences. On-site laundry, clean restrooms and showers, WiFi, and a quiet riverside setting on the San Gabriel for the end of a long shift.
  • Multiple ways in and out. The park has more than one access road, and you can reach the Hutto site by toll road or by back roads, so a stalled truck on one route doesn’t cost you the morning.
  • Pet-friendly, with the Shady River Trail along the river for evening walks.

Shady River is also about 15 minutes from the Samsung plant in Taylor, so crews splitting time between the two projects are covered. See our full list of amenities and the monthly RV lot rental page for current specials.
